MusicTown: The Fleeting Ends (By Default).

May 3, 2011

Last week, our writer Nick Brydels and photographer Ben Davids caught up with the guys from The Fleeting Ends. The full story will be in the summer issue of JUMP, which drops on June 3.

Nick: Where did “The Fleeting Ends” name come from?

Lead vocalist Matt Vantine: I was in an art class and I thought it sounded Smith-sy, flamboyant even.  And it felt like just about everything else was taken.

Nick: What kind of musical backgrounds do you have?

Matt Vantine: My mom taught me how to play guitar.  It’s kind of funny – she was actually in a folk group called “Just Us.”

Bass player Rusty Langley: I learned to play bass from my dad.  I’ve been playing ever since.  I’ve always been in bands.

Drummer Matt Amadio: I’m self-taught. I tried playing anything I could pick up.  Matt helped me get started on guitar.
