What A HUGE Week in Philly Music!

September 19, 2011

Where should we begin?

How about this: we are giving away three pairs of tickets to see Philly’s own Hoots & Hellmouth (above) Saturday at the TLA. Email us at FreeJUMPstuff@gmail.com and put “Hoots & Hellmouth” in the subject line. We’ll notify winners on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah officially open Union Transfer on Spring Garden Street.

JUMP fave Ted Leo comes back to Philly this weekend with two shows at Johnny Brenda’s, including a Saturday all-ages matinee at 1:00.

The Philly FM Fest kicks off on Thursday with more than 100 acts playing at numerous venues around town over four days. As part of the fest, Deadmau5 will have Festival Pier dancing on Friday, The Descendents take the stage Saturday (as part of Riot Fest), Cheers Elephant (right) will play for free on Girard Avenue Saturday and on Sunday, the Ukie Club will host some of Philly’s finest bands, including Good Old War (below), Nicos Gun, Reading Rainbow, Toy Soldiers and much, much more.

Fans of JUMP can see all the shows for only $50 (admission for the general public is $80). Click here to see the full lineup and here for tickets.Next weekend is also the POPPED! Festival at FDR Park. Among the major acts are Foster the People, The Shins, The Hold Steady, Girl Talk, Cults and more.

Patty Crash, our fall issue cover girl (right), performs at POPPED on Saturday, along with Philly’s favorite party band, Black Landlord (who will also play at the new Milkboy Philly that evening).

Finally, as if you didn’t have enough options, our friend Rob Paine is holding the monthly SHAKEDOWN dance party Friday at the Barbary (free PBR from 10 to 11 pm).
