Bernie from Point Breeze (above) pleaded to the crowd last night at PhilaMOCA to not just sit in chairs to watch the show.

“That would be really weird,” he said.

So everyone stood and the the rest of the night seemed like a basement punk show, with the crowd bobbing their heads as the bands jammed within touching distance.

They were a pair of newer punk bands – Point Breeze and the all-girl crew Amanda X. It was loud and raw, poppy with an attitude.

The great night came thanks to Nikki Volpicelli, the founder of the Philadelphia Area Music Showcase and a JUMP mag editor. She’s curating the Tuesday Tune-Out series this month at PhilaMOCA.
