Cheers Elephant @ The Trocadero for The Mad Dragon 10th Anniversary Concert.

May 20, 2013

CheersMadDragon03As always, the guys from Cheers Elephant put on an energetic, entertaining performance on Friday at The Trocadero as part of the Mad Dragon Records 10 year anniversary party.

But things were a little more difficult at this show.

“Our drummer is splurting blood from his finger,” singer Derek Krzywicki announced to the crowd nonchalantly, referring to bandmate Robert Kingsly. “Splurting? Is that a word? I think so, and that’s what it’s doing.”

Kingsly continued to pound the skins for a few more songs after being cared for by a stagehand. He sat out one song (playing the tambourine) while someone else played drums.

The small but spirited crowd danced through Cheers Elephant‘s whole set.

Cheers capped off a great night of local music with Hoots & Hellmouth, Kuf Knotz, Andrew Lipke, Matt Duke and Wild Rompit.
