With Philadelphia’s 8th Annual Greenfest, the environmental festival at Headhouse Square, came a pumped-up set of bands that performed all day Sunday.
The lineup started off with Sunshine Superman, a group whose upbeat rock sound cast the tone for the rest of festival. Frontwoman Valentina Raffelli passionately sang a range of eclectic songs, including a Spanish folk tale, before handing the mic over to Ali Wadsworth.
The second songstress crooned like Janis Joplin as her violet hair blew in the afternoon wind. Ali’s voice, deep and melodic, caught the attention of everyone that passed by the stage and quickly brought in an audience to hear the whole set.
Next up was Juston Stens and The Get Real Gang, a five-some with the style of The Donkeys and the harmony of The Beach Boys. With plastic sunglasses, muscle shirts and straw hats, the group was both a good listen and fun to watch jump around stage flailing their feet.
